Roam from the coast of Belize through the Mayan mountains and observed the magnificent flora that can be seen along the highways of Belize. From Placencia the journey takes approximately three hours fifteen minutes tops .but we can assure you that travelling along with a knowledgeable guide the time will seem like you just took an hour drive to get to Xunantunich. Xunantunich means stone lady in the Yucatec Mayan language, located in the Cayo village of Succotz. Upon arriving there the guest most alight the vehicle to go across on a hand crank ferry on the other side of the Mopan River to get to the parking lot about a mile away. After arriving there you will get your entrance tickets and your guide will brief you in something to take along and what to do or not to. From the parking lot to the main plaza area you will take a little stroll to the main plaza area while our guide explains and gives you some historical facts of the site and the Mayas. Thereafter we go across the river and we dine at benny`s kitchen and get a taste of some Mayan cuisine. After we have eaten we hit the highway and then we leave towards our cave tubing destination.
